Saving the Savior part 4

Hvis i ikke ved hvad en Safeguard er, så kan jeg fortælle at det er en Sikring.

Saving the Savior part 4

”You” said the chairman in a voice colder than ice, as he caught sight of the pleasantly smiling traitor.
“Yes me” he said in a casual voice.
“What!” barked the chairman “I thought a traitor like you would try to play the I’m innocent card”
“What do you mean by that?” asked Metalic still smiling “I don’t think that you would belive me for a second would you?”
“No I can’t say would, but I can’t say I’m surprised by the news either. I never really liked you all that much.”
“Why not?” Metalic asked looking truly surprised ”I have been the nicest guy in existents for over two years, always helping my fellow heroes out.”
“Ha, helping your fellows out were you? Somehow all the bad guys you have defeated for the last two years all got away on lack of evidence. Besides, you don’t have to be a psychologist to see that you hated most of the heroes, that terrible smile you used to wear when with S.U.P.E.R. never reached your eyes. See you are like me, Metalic. We both hate S.U.P.E.R. the only different is that I don’t try to kill them. And that is where the catch is, why the hell are you trying to kill all of us?”
“To save the world” he said mysteriously turning his back to the chairman and walked trough a door at the end of the hallway.
The chairman followed, there was no need to be uncivilised and attack him from behind, it wouldn’t work anyway.
The room they entered was a barrack, there were bunk beds along the walls, two more rows in each side and in the middle there were sofas and TVs. The room was at the size of a gym, and the chairman was thrown by the size of the place, Maximilian needed hundreds of men just to fill these beds.
The Chairman only just had time to gather his thought again before a fist of metal met his jar and knocked him against a wall. The punch was so hard that the Chairman was actually sent flying against the wall, luckily he was able to summon a bean bag to intercept his flight making sure that his spine didn’t break. But the contact with the wall was still hard enough to knock most people unconscious.
“Ouch!” said Metalic looking down at the barely conscious chairman, his right arm was slowly turning from metal back to flesh. “That got to hurt.” Metalic bent down to look closer at the defeated Chairman, only to receive a foot in his stomach and a well place uppercut that knocked him backwards.
“Something tells me it isn’t going to be that easy.” Said Metalic spitting out a bit of blood.
“Your damn right about that.” He said spitting out a bit of blood himself. “I have been in way to many fights to get knocked out by a weak strike like that.”
The chairman’s head was spinning as he got to his feet; it had been one hell of a punch.
“Now that I doubt, since that punch can go trough walls.”
The chairman had no trouble believing that, and realized that another hit would probably knock him out cold.
“I had completely forgotten how cowardly you were fighting, attacking while I was looking the other way, you should be ashamed.”
Metalic didn’t answer instead he gripped the nearest chair and threw it towards the chairman.
“You know that is sort of ironic.” Said the chairman dodging the chair, only to see a fist flying towards him. As the fist was inches away from him it suddenly turned to steel in the blink of an eye.
Since he had not been fast enough to move away from the wall there was only one thing to do, to duck. Half a second later he get covered from splinters from the chair that hit the concrete wall just inches to his left, and concrete splinters from were Metalic’s hand made a hole in the same wall.
The chairman dived in between his legs, caught a small stool out of the thin air and threw it at Metalic. The stool would surely had done some damage if metallic had not turned his head to metal at a moments notice and the stool simply bounced off without even leaving a mark.
The chairman got to his feet and backed into the middle of the room, pushing aside the TV’s and sofas, a plan started to grow in the chairman’s head.
“Come on.” Said Metalic as his head turned back into flesh, “Don’t tell me that’s all you got.”
“Oh I got plenty more, don’t you worry about that.” The chairman bluffed. “But tell me, how exactly are you going to save the world by helping Maximilian? Because I refuse to believe that you think he has some higher vision of life.”
“Of course not, he is just a power hungry bad guy who wants to rule the world, you’re a hero you know the type.” He said smiling grimly. “No when Maximilian takes over, I will be in charge of the counter attack. I will lead the rebellion for years and we will be successful. I will lead the rebellion in battle and we will stop the evil plans of Maximilian.”
Metalic ended his speech with a hook punch against the chairman, who ducked and hammered his foot into Metalic’s holiest of holiest, only to hit metal with such a speed that it almost broke his foot. The Chairman kicked off with the foot, only to see the ground he had just laid on get smashed, by the power of Metalic’s punch.
“Off course, that is what the public will think.” Metalic continued as if there had been no fight in between. “In reality we will only stop minor useless pieces of Maximilian’s plans, not that I care. People will see me as the only true hero who still stands to fight the evil. SOSpita league, Nano-man, firefairy, they will all be forgotten and I will be the only true hero.” The chairman looked at Metalic, there was a strange glee in his eyes at the fought of him as the only true hero, truly disgusting.
“You know.” Said the chairman in a casual voice. “I have finally realized how to kill you.”
“Ha” barked Metalic “You are a hero, and heroes don’t kill.”
“You’re forgetting an important detail: I was never a member of S.U.P.E.R. and that means I am nothing more than a normal man running amok against some bad guys.” The chairman finished his sentenced by grapping two stools out of the thin air and throwing them towards Metalics head. Metalic merely laughed, closed his eyes and turned to metal. Now the chairman had to act quickly before Metalic had time to open his eye again. He spun around and ripped the TV’s electric wire in two. The next moment Metalic had knocked the chairman to the ground, with one mighty blow.
From the ground the chairman saw metallic bending down to pick him back up with a grin on his face, and the electric wire hanging from the ceiling just out of reach.
“So you thought you could defeat me with your pathetic chairs?” spat Metalic as he held the chairman in one metal arm a few inched above the ground. “Is it so hard for you to realize that no impact can damage my metal body?”
“No” couched the chairman as he used the last of his powers to grab the wire. “But perhaps a bit of electricity can.” The chairman slammed the wire into Metalic’s arm, and saw the heat of the electricity melting its way through the Metlal skin, sending volt after volt through his body.
The chairman went spot free since he didn’t touch the ground.
When the chairman finally got free from the frozen metal grip, Metalic had been fried.
“And that…” said the chairman as he looked at the dead traitor. “is why you are supposed to have safeguards.” The chairman dropped himself in one of the sofas, and for a few minutes he was just listening. He could hear the faint alarm horn, the footsteps of troops trying to find him, or the other heroes. It took some time before he was able to get op again, mostly because he hadn’t slept for a few days. The chairman eventually got up and started walking, it was after all only a matter of time before Maximilian would realize what fish he had in his net.

“But Sir! We haven’t heard from group 39 since they got the order days ago. Something is wrong, sir.”
“I know.” Said Maximilian in a cold voice. “But it is not important; now get out of my sight.”
The officer bowed and hurried out of the room, as Maximilian turned back to the screen. It had taken 16 hours to decrypt the file, but it was time well spent.
Maximilian took a sip of red vine and smiled a wolf smile that makes kids cry, this info just made Maximilian’s day.
